It had changes to almost every cpp/h file in the code base, some a little, some a lot. Theres a bit more to source 2013 code base coming from 2007 than that, otherwise I could have just switched the base binaries straight over and not had to merge almost all of my code with the newer code file by file, line by line (hence why i say it was tedious). It's also partially broken, e.g.: blinking is apparently associated with TF2 flexes on both SP/MP.ĭo you ever intend on releasing the entirety of the Codename CURE source code in the near future over at GitHub?ĭo you ever intend on releasing the entirety of the Codename CURE source code in the near future over at GitHub? Thats interesting I thought Valve may have taken it down at some point. Source 2013 is just basically Source 2007 but with added VPK and Mac/Linux support. The leaked code is still here nowadays, currently being used as a reference codebase for the GMod source code. Thanks though, we'll probably need a bit of luck with how these things go sometimes xD I believe someone leaked source 2007 engine code on github at one point (and that may or may not still be up idk), but i ported from 2007 to 2013 long ago (which was probably the most tedious thing ive ever had to do tbh) so going back wasn't really an option (not to mention lack of linux/mac support lol) Originally posted by Hoobalugalar_X:via Source SDK 2013 we got game code (which allows you to code and build client/server dlls with c++) but not the engine code (so the base hl2/srcds executables) although you can do a lot without engine access theres certain things you simply cant do. This game will be on a modern engine (UE4) with less limitations both licence and feature wise so we will be able to make something pretty close to our vision for it as well as charge something for it. The new project will hopefully make an early access debut in early 2020, if we keep our nose to the grindstone. But swings and roundabouts: this probably helped quite a lot in terms of the game being able to run on older hardware. btw how long till the new project come ? Indeed, its just the way things go sometimes, it also wasn't just the licence, the engine itself was problematic without full engine code access we could only go so far without hitting hard coded engine limits. Originally posted by Libertarian Party:" due to engine/licence limitations " it hurts to read sth like that, I played this game a couple of minutes but definitely you guys deserve at least to put this game 10 dolars, you should have done that but that is just my opinion, damn im in rage right now the things you could have done about this game but you are limited. "Lore" is the name of Mr Data's evil brother in Star Trek TNG, so that's where the crazy reference is from lol The default bot names in cure are made up of various fictional robots and AI from films and TV shows. Our next project will/has benefited from cure in (hopefully) not making some of the same mistakes, and perhaps a few design parallels, but is also a different IP/genre (i.e. There was potentially more that could have been done (more modes / maps / weapons etc.) but as i said unfortunately there were limiting factors which made us feel in the end it was time to move on. PD:The other day i just played with a bot called lore, its a coincidence or some crazy reference? :D Thanks, I believe we achieved what i originally set out to with cure and much more besides, it became more popular than I ever expected as well as leaning a lot in the process. If you waste too much time, your team won't have enough time to escape.Originally posted by Loreboi16:You did a very good job hoob, the game is pretty fun, and its not tiring to play, of course you can get bored of any game because we always get used to everything so quickly, but in this case is different (At least for me), is still very fun then and now, you worked a lot on this game and we as Cure players will always aprecciate that. There're just several minutes for your team. Don't let this guy wait you for a long time. Not only elevator, but also some doors and vehicles, everything related to evacuation.īesides, when someone has opened an elevator, get in as soon as possible. Remember, there's absolutely no warning when the elevator is closing.
